About me

Ester Gouw is a children's illustrator with a passion for educating children.  She grew up drawing every day in a green small town in Borneo, Indonesia and now lives in Madrid, Spain. After 8 years of teaching, she decided to continue educating young children by creating impactful illustrations full of storytelling. Her interest in diversity lead her to learn to speak english, spanish, chinese and indonesian.

She enjoys illustrating Christian and magical picture books that focused on morals and childhood behaviour.  She is inspired by her students and her childhood. As a young girl, Ester loved Biblical stories and folk tales that included good and bad moral messages as well as miracles and magic. She is always delighted to show her new artworks and receive many commisions from her little friends.

Furthermore, Ester is a very driven individual who is currently sharpening her illustration skills through her own pieces as well as client commission work. She loves working on both traditional and digital illustrations. When she is not drawing, she spends time creating fun "DIY" crafts, reading picture books, and even creating educational videos on YouTube along with her young daughter.

She is keen to work on picture books, book covers, educational illustrations and workbooks, puzzle, cards, etc. Her interest includes but not limited to : 

1. Stories about folk tales and legends that have a meaningful message

2. Stories of the bible (both historical and modern)

3. Activity books 

4. Educational illustrations such as puzzles, cards, steps, and etc

5. Stories that educate children to make an impact on the world in culture and diversity.
